I started watching Long Vacation (1996) and I can't believe that the fashion style that you see 14yrs ago are coming back.. the clothes don't feel that dated except for the occasional over-sized jacket that Kimura Takuya wore.. There is this particular scene that I could relate well to.. Sena laments that there is no spotlight on the supporting role in life while Minami wonders when's her turn to appear in the spotlight... Aglio Olio :) [09 May 2010|04:18pm] Tried making aglio olio spaghetti again.. it's been a while.. I realised I am always afraid to add salt while cooking cos I'm afraid the food will turn up too salty.. well today I decided I will change that habit.. added more salt then I could.. [27 Jul 2009|11:55pm] [ mood | pissed off ] Experienced bad service at Sim Lim Sq... I went to get my processor fan yesterday.. I enquired at 3 shops and only 1 provided service.. First shop.. name starting with FuXXXX.. Me: "Do you have processor fan?" SA (Shop assistant): "Which model?" (Shows description) SA: "Don't have" Me: "Do you know anywhere I can get this?" SA: "Don't know" the whole time he was looking at another customer.. I know a processor fan may cost v little to catch his attention but i am a customer too! 2nd shop.. name starting with ChaXXXXX Me: "Do you have processor fan?" SA 1: "Which model?" (Shows description) SA 1: "Don't know." (looks at colleague) SA 2: "Which model?" (Shows description and tells model of computer) SA 2: "Oh they have specialised model, we don't have here. only upstairs can check but they are closed." Me: "Oh then I need to come back again." SA 2: "You can call to ask tomorrow." Me: "Can I have a number to call?" He writes the number. Sigh, I have to ask for it! Throughout the conversation, he seems unhelpful and unwilling to volunteer much information. So I didn't call today either.. Well, I am not even sure where I chucked the paper. Ha. 3rd Shop..name starting with VidXX XXX Me: "Do you have processor fan?" SA 1: "At the back" He looks at 2 customers who just came in and they seem to be interested in getting a motherboard. Well, that's answered my question of how helpful he is. I started my way to go to the back of the shop. SA2: "What do you need?" Me: "Processor fan" I showed my paper. The lady then came out of the counter and brought me to the back. Then she patiently tried to help me, showing me different types and asking me about what model I need. Well, seemed like the model I wanted is not generic and I am not sure too.. So she suggested I bring my fan/heat sync or cpu over so that we can get an appropriate one. (their processor fan is not exchangable) After 3 shops of asking ard, I finally got some service. Sigh, really sad that the service standard in singapore is really getting bad. Is because it is a small purchase, no one bothered to help? I guess if I were to buy something more costly, perhaps I would have better service. That's why I have a phobia and hence would rather self service. What's happening? o

[19 Jul 2009|07:01pm] my mood suddenly deteriorated in the afternoon today.. wah experiencing terrible mood swings :S anyway.. i think my processor fan blew out today.. need to find a replacement.. no wonder it is making so much noise suddenly.. then it quietened after a while... sigh.. bad luck.. hope nothing will happen to the comp.. i din back up my stuff will be using mac for a while now... hopefully will get the fan next sun... 2 x | o

[28 Jun 2009|01:36pm] [ mood | high ] Back from Tokyo! Missing Tokyo already..haha Took lots of photos, meant all my needs (literally bought stuff from head to toe..) Well, though it was quite expensive, we still managed to keep to our budget.. I think public transport is really ex as compared to Singapore as they don't have any debate system. If you take 2 different trains from 2 companies, you may end up paying like S$5 per trip. Hence, planning your route carefully is important. Then again, we did try to save some money by walking to the nearby stations of different places we wanted to go.haha.. Didn't managed to cover all the places I wanted to go - Akihabara and Tsukiji Market as my friend didn't wanted to go. But I guess Tokyo is really a shopping paradise. I spent most money at the 100 yen shops! I think I bought like $200 worth of food, household and craft stuff..haha.. So shiok! But at the end of the first Daiso, the stuffing of items into the basket slowed down a lot.. hahahhaa Well, I guess more updates after I sort out my photos.. I shall not procastinate this time! 1 x | o

[26 Jan 2009|09:37pm] [ mood | crappy ] I'm a black t-shirt (v-neck.. designed black t-shirt)..ie. easy to be matched with any bottom. I took a little adventure today. However, I am glad to be back.. Well, how did it happened? I was happily being hung up onto the bamboo pole for a week (that's how my owner procasinate in bringing in dried laundry) and she realised that I am smelling like kimchi ramen... She decided that I need airing.. So I was brought outside,hanger and all, secured with a big peg onto the bamboo pole.. I was enjoying my time outdoors when a gust of wind came.. It was a freak gust of wind.. I broke loose from the pole and took a spin. I didn't know where I landed. It took a while for my owner to realise I'm gone. (What a dork!) Her first round of search was unsuccessful.. she only managed to find the peg on the ground floor. But I was sure she was pretty upset that she lost me. What could I do? I just laid that and waited.. For the wind? Maybe.. cos it was a really windy day... After a while (well, for heaven's sake, she went to take a bath)... she decided that she needs to do another search.. And she finally spotted me.. two floors down our house.. lying on the ledge... only accessible from the neighbour's window.. I waited.. Minutes flew by.. Then suddenly I felt something poking me.. I was being pushed down by a stick... I started flying again.. Ah the carefree feeling.. vs the feeling to be taken home.. oh.. I landed... not on the ground but onto yet another ledge... I saw her.. looking frantically on the floor.. then she saw me.. but she was too short to reach up (darn!).. Then I felt it again.. the stick.. I was being pushed down.. By then, I am covered with dirt...(well part of me) I'm glad to be back home though.. Now i'm hanging inside the kitchen, all cleaned up (3 caps of dettol.. vigorous washing..) Hopefully I will not be taking any trip again.. good to be back... Stupid adventure on the first day of new year..ha 5 x | o

[02 Jan 2009|09:28pm] I was reading a couple of articles on making New Year Resolutions, sadly I have gained little insights on making mine. However, I totally agree with this article on yahoo!: "New Year's resolutions can be bad for you: mental health charity" "New Year's resolutions can sometimes focus on our problems or insecurities such as being overweight, feeling unhappy in our jobs or feeling guilty about not devoting enough time to friends and family throughout the year," said Mind chief executive Paul Farmer. "We chastise ourselves for our perceived shortcomings and set unrealistic goals to change our behaviour, so it's not surprising that when we fail to keep resolutions, we end up feeling worse than when we started. "In 2009, instead of making a New Year's resolution, think positively about the year to come and what you can achieve." ----- I guess it would help for me to make some NYR too, just to spear myself on a bit. And since I have yet made any concrete plans for a long time, I think my resolutions will still be quite open to changes. Ha.. Here goes: 1) Improve my english, written and spoken. It's weird that how Singlish have dominated our lives. I should really stop putting so many "..." in my casual written english! 2) Inspirations -> paper. The idea of improving on my drawing and putting ideas onto paper is highly attractive. And associated with this is to improve my photoshop skills too. Oh well, a plan should be in place for this! 3) Blog more? (As advised by my horoscope on Susan Miller's Astrology Zone) 4) Be kinder to myself. (and of course to people around me) 5) Open. 1 x | o
